Dolores Wheeler Bio
When Gossner Foods started in 1966, Dolores Gossner Wheeler was living at home on the family farm with her husband, Allen and two daughters, Trish and Dixie. In addition to working on the family farm, Dolores joined her father working beside him in the packaging of cheese.
Her mother insisted that she learn the bookwork behind running a company and Dolores became the Human Resource Director. Later, in 1984, she insisted that Dolores became the President, CEO, and Chairman of the board of Gossner Foods, Inc.
Over the years Dolores lead the way as Gossner Foods experienced strong growth, but it has always been Dolores's commitment to the employees and the farmers that truly showcased the success of Gossner Foods. (Dolores would credit Gossner Foods success to the strength and devotion of her employees and dairy producers.)
During her time at Gossner Foods, Dolores was the first woman chair of the board of directors for the Utah Manufactures Association, served on the board of directors of Key Bank of Utah, was voted manufacturer of the year by Utah Manufactures Association, and was named Utah Entrepreneur of the Year.
Dolores is presently a member of an agricultures committee working to preserve the rural lifestyle in Northern Utah and Southern Idaho. She supports local 4-H and FFA clubs, university & high school sports and athletics. She still returns home to the farm each night and enjoys riding her horse and working the cattle. She still maintains a close relationship with the farmers and with the employees.
Dolores and Allen Wheeler have been married for 56 years. Together they have 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
