Brief History of Pat Tate
John P."Pat" Tate was Born January 12th, 1927 in Boise Idaho.
Grew up on Triangle Dairy farm in south Boise
Graduated from Boise High School in 1944
Spent two quarters at Boise Junior College before being drafted into the Army.
Served 20 months in Infantry, Coast Artillery in the Phillipines and finally the Air Corps on
Okinawa.
Graduated from University of Washington in 1950 in Business Administration.
Went to work for Triangle Dairy which was all retail at that time.
Married Barbara Butler in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1950 and have 4 children, Carol, Jim, Janet, and
Doug.
Active in many civic affairs; Elder in the Presbyterian Church, served on Quality Chekd Board
of Directors for 14 years, President of Associated Dairies (merger of Triangle – Youngs Dairies
and Home Dairies.)
Twice served as the president of Idaho Milk Processors.
Now owner and President of M & W Markets.
